Kimi Ga Ita Kisetsu – Isumi Michiru

I went for Captain first because she’s the Captain and Munakata/Kazama routes branch from hers. I wanted Munakata the most but Age cut her and Kazama’s routes out and plan on releasing it in a patch later on (the option is unclickable right now).

Isumi Michiru is the second oldest of the 4 Isumi sisters, currently attending Hakuryou University (come to think of it, KimiIta sure has lots of girls who are older than the MC). She’s strict and punctual and also very sharp, but of course she has an extremely deredere side. She’s a dishonest senpai who can’t reveal her true feelings and also hates having her photo taken. Spoilers in the rest of this post.

Since this is a chara-ge, there isn’t much in the way of plot. Maejima Masaki, our protagonist, is an aspiring photographer who is working part-time at a studio under Kouzuki Mitsuko, a pretty famous photographer who was once the disciple of Helmut (or however you romanize it), a famous dude from New York. Masaki’s parents are conveniently aboard so he’s renting a single room and is being taken care of by his childhood friends, the 4 Isumi sisters. Lucky dude gets to live alone, has a job and a goal, and eats dinner every day with 4 bishoujos who love him? I jelly. He also meets a freeloading foreigner who speaks heavily accented Japanese that I have a painful time deciphering.

Anyways, Mitsuko tells Masaki to take a picture better than his previous works so he invites Michiru on a date and secretly snaps a photo of her. Mitsuko approves and lets him take pictures of the model, Misa, during the photoshoot. For some reason, KimiIta has an h-scene with Mitsuko as a part of the common route when Masaki is drunk O_O

Anyways, summer break starts, and Masaki and his classmates are supposed to attend a “seaside school” during the break (I have no idea what it is, seems like a stay at some school by the sea). It is also revealed that the freeloading foreigner is actually Helmut, and he wanted Masaki to visit his studion in NY during the summer, but he can’t since he has seaside school. LOL and then Masaki catches a cold and ends up not going to seaside school the next day. He begins to realize that he likes Michiru and confesses to her during their family trip to the hotsprings in August. Operation Onsen was a success, Captain! They begin dating, but then Mitsuko tells him that Helmut will be back in September and wants to see a good photo from Masaki. If he approves, he will take Masaki to New York as a disciple. Masaki is like “WANT but that means leaving my girlfriend” and he tells her. Michiru tells him to go and starts avoiding him. After some help from Yayoi, they make up and she admits that she doesn’t want to be apart from him.

Michiru’s glasses are actually fake and they’re the mask she’s hiding behind, so Masaki tells her to be more honest with her feelings and she stops wearing them. H-scene happens, Masaki takes a picture of her, Helmut approves and he goes to America. So then like a year later, Masaki returns to Japan for a photo exhibition and starts sounding more American and has fun teasing the Captain =D She’s preparing for the Hakuryou University cultural festival where she invited a popular singer called Kazu to perform.

During the day of the festival Kazu suddenly cancels and the Captain being the Captain, she just says “I’m sorry, it’s my fault” whenever people ask what happened. Some rumours fly around saying she sold herself to Kazu’s manager and it appears on a crappy gossip magazine. This being Japan, her school is thinking of expelling her so Masaki goes to the magazine’s HQ to complain. The guy there is like “lol I don’t care I’m getting paid for this” but then Misa (that model Masaki took photos of) appears and tells him that the guy complaining is Maejima Masaki and is Helmut’s disciple. The magazine guy is like “fine, what you want?” and Masaki finds out Kazu’s address from him.

Masaki goes to Kazu’s house to complain and it turns out that he knows nothing and his manager did everything. Kazu cancelled at the festival because he bumped into his old girlfriend that he dumped because male singer with girlfriend = cannot sell to fangirls. He thought “OMFG she’s hot now! DO WANT” and then went to the hospital because he got too nervous lol. His manager is like “fuuuu we can’t let people know, let’s blame it on that girl who invited Kazu just because she happens to be here!” and thus the magazine article blamed it on Michiru instead of Kazu. Masaki is like “go back to your gf dude so mine doesn’t have to get expelled” except he worded it in a nice and convincing speech and Kazu clears the whole thing up in public.

Masaki attends the photo exhibition, and tells the press that Michiru is his lover (d’aaaaawwww). Michiru goes to New York to study to become a translator, so it’s not longer a long-distance relationship. In the epilogue, She’s working as his manager in New York.

Hnnnng that was a pretty d’aaaaw route. Jesus, a purely sweet romance from Age? And Masaki isn’t even that dense and FIGURES OUT THAT HE’S IN LOVE ON HIS OWN, without having someone to yell at him to choose a girl! Masaki isn’t all that special, but at least he has a personality and doesn’t irritate me. The story is lacking, so it all boils down to whether you like the characters or not.

Captain was pretty cute for me, possibly because she was in MuvLuv Alternative and I loved everyone there except the BETA. Even Yuuko, even though everyone on /m/ thinks she’s a bitch for the things she did (if I say she’s one of my favorites in Alt, what does that make me?). Next I’m going for Marika, because she reminds me of Sumika both personality and character design-wise. There’s no Meiya look-alike in KimiIta, but there doesn’t need to be. Alternative!Meiya was the best for me.

KimiIta, surprisingly, has loads of h-scenes. There’s 3 in the common route (although 2 of them are fantasies), and then like 6 once I got into the Captain’s route. There’s not a lot of non-ero CGs, so that’s why I didn’t post more CGs. Age’s VNs have enough budget and sprite/BG movement to not need that many CGs. Masaki’s male friends all have portraits, and so do Marika’s female friends. There’s like 4 guys who don’t say much other than “I agree” or “RAAAAAGE why you have so many hot girls around you?” and they have portraits.
