What the title says. 5D’s won’t be airing for 2 weeks (due to baseball?). That’s right, kids. They stop for 2 weeks in the middle of a decisive duel.
I’m pretty late this week, since subs weren’t out on Thursday and I was busy this weekend. I actually put real life in front of my important hobbies for once. Damn, I miss PrismWeapon and how episodes were almost always out on Thursdays…The new subbers are rather inconsistent in release speed, and some look like they don’t bother proofreading their subs. If I have to rely on the Japanese dialogue to fully understand the English subs, that’s going too far. I shouldn’t be complaining about something people do for FREE out of their OWN time, but as many people have said, “if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well.”
Mini-rant aside, this week’s subs weren’t so bad. Then again, friendship speeches are probably one of the most easily understood dialogue in shounen anime. Basically, this episode has Crow sacrificing himself for the team, and entrusted Black Feather Dragon to Yusei after doing a giant friendship speech on bonds. Yugioh gives good friendship speeches, so I liked this episode. Crow summoning BFD after getting defeated was cool, too. Man…I do go soft for friendship. Anyways, after the events of this episode, we’ll have Yusei facing off a Jose with 12000 life points and a 15500 ATK monster. Not that I’ve got something against the hero, but I’d much prefer it if the others had a chance to shine too. That’s why I don’t like the WRGP arc’s style–side character development and final victory by someone other than Yusei is hard to come by. It’s more fun seeing each character in their own duels and then teaming up for the final boss like in the Dark Signer arc.
I truly wish for an epic fight outside of WRGP rules. Give Jack some awesome fuels, won’t you, writers? Oh, and if you’re gonna make Yusei do everything, then the upcoming episodes better be really good and no pulling random cards out of nowhere, ok?
Now that YGO5D’s isn’t running for 2 weeks, I hope TWGOK and Oreimo are on schedule. Maybe I’ll take this opportunity to check out some new anime.
